Artist Statement
I work intuitively drawing elements from various aspects of my experience. These aspects include knowledge from travel, art history, memories, and moments that inform my approach.
There tends to be a nod to landscape, directly or ambiguously, in my work. A perception of time, place, and space are alluded to by a horizon line anchoring the viewer’s perspective. I explore with both traditional and non traditional mediums, creating a playful and kitschy feel sprinkled with a healthy dose of surrealism.
My work has been referred to as possessing a sense of consciousness, as well as a child like and painterly quality, a description that I embrace. An element of amusement and romanticism are at the forefront of everything I do.
